I totally agree that kids and teens must have some type of allowances in order to give them a great amount of practice with money before they move out so they can move out successfully.
You really have to have a system though. So many parents have asked for a system that I wrote The Ultimate Allowance. Basically, it's simple: you take the money you're already spending ON your kids and instead run it THROUGH them.
